Tyler Carlson

Tyler is responsible for recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees as well as for upholding service standards at Bald Mountain Shooting Range.

Carlson has always taken his role within Michigan Shooting Centers seriously and is passionate about his results. Beyond his strong work ethic, Tyler is a natural leader. Carlson is “at his best in a group environment, and is consciously proactive at getting full involvement of all other team members” according to Michigan Shooting Centers’ president and founder, Pat Lieske.

Originally from Missouri, Tyler Carlson was born into a military family, and as such moved from place to place throughout his youth. He first got involved in the shooting sports through his high school in South Carolina, where he shot both ATA american trap and sporting clays competitively. Upon moving to Michigan his sophomore year of high school, he began working at Michigan Shooting Centers as a general laborer until his graduation from Northville High School in 2011. He rejoined Michigan Shooting Centers in 2016, where he since served as the Clay Target Manager of Island Lake Shooting Range.

Tyler graduated from the 22-week long police academy at Washtenaw Community College in 2015. He is additionally expecting to complete his bachelor’s degree in political science from Central Michigan University. He holds many certifications including CPR and AED. Outside of his position as general manager, Carlson enjoys hunting, fishing, shooting IDPA, and recreational sports. He has a younger sister who graduated from Northville High School.
