Orion Sporting Weekend is a two-day celebration of Michigan’s great outdoors, designed to introduce attendees to the incredible variety of activities our state has to offer. From camping and hunting to fishing, shooting, and hiking, the event showcases the very best in outdoor recreation, products, and experiences.

The event is hosted at Bald Mountain Shooting Range, a 100-acre, family-operated facility located within the Bald Mountain State Recreation Area. Known for its meticulously maintained grounds and inviting, “up-north” style atmosphere, this venue offers a scenic backdrop that leaves a lasting impression on visitors. Conveniently located within a 10-mile radius of over 500,000 residents, it provides an ideal setting for attracting a large and diverse audience.

The 2026 show marks the 4th annual Orion Sporting Weekend. Each year, both vendor participation and attendance have grown significantly—2025 saw a 20% increase over the previous year, with 700 tickets reserved. The trend continues upward, and we look forward to another record-breaking year.

Our attendees represent an ideal demographic for outdoor recreation businesses. Many are seeking top-quality gear, products, and services, while others are exploring new hobbies and eager to learn from experts. In both cases, they are highly receptive to quality products, knowledgeable guidance, and hands-on experiences. Vendors offering camping, hunting, fishing, shooting, and hiking-related goods or services have historically found great success at the event.

In addition to vendor exhibits, Orion Sporting Weekend features popular attractions that keep families engaged and encourage repeat attendance. Annual staples include bounce houses, birds of prey demonstrations, hunting dog demonstrations, complimentary beer tastings, birdhouse painting, a petting zoo, and rotating special features such as rock climbing walls and helicopter appearances.

To maximize impact for each vendor, we limit the number of vendors within each product or service category. Please provide a detailed description of your core products or services. This information will help us assign an optimal booth location and maintain a balanced variety of vendor types. Our goal is to create an environment where every vendor has the best opportunity for success.
Educational seminars are typically limited to 30 minutes in duration. A microphone will be provided to help you share your expertise or skills with the audience.

Booth Details

Exhibitors are responsible for any additional booth materials including backdrop, tables, chairs, table coverings, easels, etc. A professional appearance is required, and the booth must be staffed throughout the show. Electricity is not generally available without prior accommodations.

Insurance

Security is not provided throughout the Exhibition and Michigan Shooting Centers will not be held responsible for any loss, theft or damage to the property of the Exhibitor, his/her employees or representatives. The Venue does have a perimeter fence, and the entrance gate is locked at night. Security cameras are also placed throughout the property. The Venue will not be liable for damage or injury to persons or property from any cause whatsoever because of the use or occupancy of the exhibit space by the Exhibitor or his/her assigns during setup, show, and/or tear down.

For and in further consideration of Exhibitors being allowed to participate in Orion Sporting Weekend, the Exhibitor shall indemnify and hold harmless the Venue from all liability which ensue from any cause whatsoever including, but not limited to, attorney’s fees.

Cancellation

If Michigan Shooting Centers should be prevented from holding the Orion Sporting Weekend because of any cause beyond its control, or it cannot permit the Exhibitor to occupy its space due to a cause or causes beyond its control, then Michigan Shooting Centers has the right to cancel the Exhibit with no further liability to the Exhibitor other than a refund of the booth rental.

If the Exhibitor needs to cancel, they must provide a minimum of two weeks notice.

Setup and Tear Down

Exhibition hours will be from 10 AM – 4 PM on both Saturday August 8th and Sunday August 9th. Parking will open to the general public at 9:30 AM.

Vendor setup will be available starting on Friday August 7, 2026, from 10 AM to 6 PM. Setup will also be available on Saturday August 8, 2026 at 7:30 AM. All vendors must be setup prior to 10 AM on Saturday August 8, 2026.

Please plan to break down your booth no earlier than 5 PM on your day of departure.

Price: $200.00
All vendors are required to submit a $200 refundable participation deposit. This deposit will be fully refunded if you attend the event as scheduled or cancel with at least two weeks’ notice. If you fail to attend or cancel with less than two weeks’ notice, the deposit will be forfeited.
